One by one...

...equals I have a sister!! It was a really good day, and everything went well (no freakouts, no late caterer or cake, no cold feet...).

I had worried that I was going to embarass my family (current or extended), and I kind of sort of did. It seems that the pastor wanted the wedding sermon to be memorable, so he made the entire thing an allusion to the movie I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry by quoting the line "it's like a circle" a couple times. He picked that line because it was appropriate, and that happens to be one of the impressions that my brother does on a regular basis. So the entire wedding party was standing up at the altar shaking with snickers and suppressed ha-ha's. I tried to hold mine in, but I ended up letting out a noise between a hiccup and a sneeze - very inappropriate and incredibly embarrassing.

Then there was dancing at the reception - I got asked to dance a couple times by the groomsmen (and of course the other bridesmaids made comments about how cute I looked dancing and how I should thusly think of dating/marrying one of Jeremy's friends since I caught the bouquet in the toss). We also had the Grand March, the Chicken Dance, the Aggie War Hymn, the Cotton-Eyed Joe (and whatever that song is that always followed the CEJ at the Hall in College Station...the one where you line-dance by doing kicks while backing up.

The wedding guests seemed to be primarily adults, probably the average age was somewhere in the mid-40s. It made a difference in the atmosphere, as there weren't any "YMCA" or "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" dances with the bride and friends jiggling around. There also weren't as many couples dancing as I thought there ought to be. There also wasn't any Electric Slide.

But every wedding is going to be different. I was glad that this one went off without any fiascos or even any seemingly visible bumps. And I'm incredibly excited that my sister is now officially in the family. Hooray!!!!
