Daily posts...

...happen sometimes. My phone is un-dead for the moment, but I can tell that I've got a time-bomb on my hands as far as it goes. Hopefully it can wait until July-ish to go comatose, so I can get a first generation iPhone for free. (*Dreams*) That's assuming, of course, that they release the new version soon. All I have to go on are speculation and rumors.

My Gram and Aunt came into Austin today on the midnight (really 7 o'clock) train. True to what I was expecting with the passenger train system in America, it was 45 minutes late. If this were any other country, that wouldn't have happened. Anyway, I'm glad they made it in safely and they're with my folks right now having those good old-fashioned family sit-together-and-talk-for-hours times that are famous on my mom's side of the family. Of course, it's 3:30 now, so I'm sure everyone's in bed.

I'll also be getting a sister in four days. It's a little crazy and I still feel hopelessly socially inept for these sort of occasions. I found out that not one, but two of my brother's groomsmen are...well, not married,(but no, I've no intention of dating either) so I'll probably have some opportunities to dance between the two. Hopefully one (or both) of them can lead. I hardly think that the other two would ask me, particularly with wives in attendance. Thank heavens I don't have to give a toast - my humor only works in long rambling observational doses or completely off-topic quips at 2 AM.

Then it's lab week, and today's gift was pizza. 9 boxes worth. That's what's left-over from three shifts, and the boxes are either completely or mostly full. There will be pizza tomorrow. Wednesday, I suspect, will be a barbeque dinner, and then I'm not working the rest of the week so I don't really care what goes on. I am such a sucker for free things. Greedy, greedy Karla.

In things that are not free, it looks like we have passed the point of drama for my house. My lender has all the documents, called me to tell me it has everything and I'm almost done, and I've been told the seller's agent has purchased a plane ticket for the closing day (dedicated arrival of the seller is always a positive sign). Of course, I'm told that one of my uncles doesn't approve of the olive-green upstairs hallway....
