So yeah, last night's housewarming bash was AWESOME. Major kudos to everyone that managed to come out! My only regret is that we still have some keg left over (probably a couple gallons of beer...it's probably not going to get finished by Tuesday unless someone has another party or wants to come over with a pitcher to take some home. Anybody want to stop by with a pitcher or bottle or anything to get some free beer?).
For everyone that wasn't there, we had a slip 'n slide (courtesy of Z&K)!! Actually, it was two slip 'n slides put together to make a super long one, and it was awesome with the sloped hill in my back yard. Since it was a housewarming present, it's definitely going to make reappearances at other get-togethers. People came out in waves, so the makeup of the party changed throughout the night. As did the age-level of our party. It's been determined it was an "adult party" because nothing got broken and nobody got sick, a "five-year-old" party because of the slip 'n slide and the water balloons, a "teenage" party because of the Smash Bros. games going on in the livingroom, and a "late high school/early college" party because of the kegs, the beer pong, and the jello shots. Anyway, it was awesome and I had a fantastic time.
So I'm sure most everyone has heard by now that I'm not going to be joined by my former housemates in the fall. It was a nice thought while it lasted, but it's been determined that financially they weren't ready to move. I wasn't entirely shocked by the news because although the intent was clearly there, things always kept getting postponed. In the end, I'm glad that I have a spacious house that I can pay for on my own. I don't harbor any ill will or (much) resentment since I'm not being shafted with sudden financial burdens. It's going to be a little empty in this place (I'm not going to Craigslist or otherwise search for new housemates, but if a friend of mine ever wants to live here I would gladly have them).
But then again, I've got a boyfriend to keep me busy, so I shouldn't get too lonesome in this house.
