One word to describe tonight...

Ugh.

I got yelled at by a nurse tonight. Seems that I had the pleasure of working in blood bank, and the ER staff had the pleasure of not being able to pay attention enough to write the correct information on the tubes of a trauma kid. The second time was just plain ridiculous, as they said the patient was born on the 42nd of a month. A likely story.

I'm so fucking sick and tired of people not understanding what I do. What's so hard to understand? I get tubes of blood from people and then though a variety of processes, do tests to identify the presence and/or amount of any substance that might be present. Electrolytes, viruses, drugs, whatever.

And so why should I have to take shit because someone isn't paying attention to their patient? What fucking basis does some irresponsible nurse have to accuse me of not caring about the patient? I wish I were more quick-witted, because I would have liked to have told the nurse a few things of that sort. But then again, I'm not one for arguing, I'm one for placating. Damnit, I need to stop that.

*Sighs*

Work continues on the house. I got my room painted, but it's only a first coat. The stupid painter's tape didn't prevent the paint from seeping underneath, so the overlap of the main walls with the accent wall is all blotchy and in need of repair. I'm feeling stressed with the impending deadline (Saturday) and the plethora of work still left to do before we get furniture in. Not only do I have to go back in my room and touch-up, remove the side-spatters of paint from the sideboards and electrical sockets (thankfully only a few spots), but so much needs to be fixed and/or cleaned that I have a to-do list more than a page long. R&J are coming up tomorrow sometime and staying for two days, so hopefully we can get a bunch of stuff done. The only real "group" project that we've got on our menu is to paint the downstairs, which shouldn't take quite as long with three people (my walls averaged a paint time of 1 hr and a prep time of 1 hr each).

Only 8 hours (assuming adequate sleep) left in which to do things before furniture gets shunted in...
