So much moving going on! Thankfully, most of it is done because of the awesomest moving party EVER. Thanks everybody!! I've since filled my car twice with stuff from the old apt, and it's not empty YET. But I'm working on it.
And K&Z helped me demolish a good chunk of my liquor cabinet. Woooo!!
This is the second time I've started a post since the last one, and all I can say is that it's all repetitive stuff about the house and blah blah blah. I love it, everyone seems to enjoy it, my family is happy, and I'm comfortable (for the most part - there are some odd creaking and cracking noises that come out of my house). There's a wedding this weekend, and I'm really excited!! Let's hope there's plenty o'dancing. I can't wait!
More blathering about the house -
R&J came up this past weekend to help me paint the downstairs and get their rooms painted. I've got to say that I think we all have great eye for color, as all our rooms look brilliant and the color we picked for the downstairs makes it look bright and cheerful. Although after you get to painting a whole room, you really get tired of it and it starts to become a chore.
There were definitely gaps in my synapses for the entire weekend, and the pressure of having so much to do probably got on peoples' nerves. In the end, although I still ended up being majorly unprepared for the move, all the big furniture made it over safely, which was the entire point. Everybody got along, my family got to meet/remeet three of the most important people in Austin, and it really went smoothly.
Oh yeah, and I drove a U-Haul truck for about a mile and a half. Scary shit, driving a huge truck that you cannot see out the back of. I probably weaved on the road a lot and took corners sharper than I ought, but thank heavens my dad was already in the parking lot at the apartment to back it into a parking spot for me. *Whew*
I can't wait for the housewarming party (official date probably somewhere at the beginning of July) - I've got six bottles of champagne from my brother's wedding that I can crack into!!
You'd think I'd be running off at the mouth about leaving the country (which I am going to do pretty soon), but I guess much like Scarlett O'Hara, I'll think about that tomorrow.
