Things to do at work....

I can't resist going back to look at the listing for my property. I call it my property with some hope - the important documents have been signed, the inspection came out pretty squeaky clean, and I think I made a wise decision by locking in my interest rate a few days ago. In the two days that have passed, the interest rate has gone up a whole tenth of a percent from where I locked in....*whew*. It'll probably go higher now that Bear Sterns stock officially dropped to nil. (Or maybe it did a couple days ago...I get my info from reruns of the Daily Show these days.)

One of my prospective housemates got himself an apartment with a six-month lease, so at the moment there's just going to be the three of us. Who knows what can happen in that time? All kinds of things.

Being back on the night shift is insanely monetarily rewarding. I just got paid about 3.3 hours ago, and it was a heaping $270 more than my estimation. Makes me happy. Money can't buy happiness, for sure, but it can certainly help keep back some of the more depressing aspects of life - hunger, homelessness, and boredom.

I think there are certain people who will never be satisfied with their weight. I am one. I've lost 15 pounds (and counting) in the past six months or so, and I'm still not completely happy. I probably won't be, but I'm not going to obsess about it too much (but please, someone tell me if I start looking like Skeletor, k?). Eh, but that's a girl thing, I guess.

Got the latest Raconteurs album. It rocks my face off, but I was a little sad that I had to kick out my newly stolen (from B-Bel) copy of a Raine Maida CD (The singer from OLP doing some hip-hop-esque solo tunes) in order to hear it. My favorite two lines right now are from "Salute Your Solution"
"And I got what I got, all despite you
And I get what I get, just to spite you"

Regrettably, I can't make it to any of their Austin tour dates. I'm glad I got to see them at ACL, but still. What is it with me not getting to see concerts these days?? The Blue October concert was my first one of the year, and it's nearly April! What's wrong with this picture?!?!?!

Anyway. I'm stealing boxes from work to pack things. I'm probably going to start packing things up before closing...I know it. I can't wait. I'm really, really, excited about this place. Okay - now to go and play around with wishlists of things I want for the new casa.....
