Random Blog Features...

...like the fact that the blogger dashboard shows me drafts and unposted things from other peoples' blogs. It's pretty strange.

Oh my, so many days have passed and not a whole hell of a lot to say about them. Went to ACL and had a rocking good time, but there were definitely specific things that were different and/or sucked because Mars was not there with me. Primarily I missed that rushing of the stage like we usually pulled off. I had almost half-expected to see some of the folks I know from Bellville that were at the event, but that didn't happen. It's simply too big and we don't have each others' phone numbers. Pity.

Things are still grand with my BM. We went to San Antonio this weekend for some drinking and shirtless escapades with Z&K. Good times were had. Except that my watch stopped in the middle of the night so that when I woke up I thought it was after 1 in the afternoon and I'd been a lazy-ass in bed all morning long. Turns out it was more like 10:30 in the morning and I didn't need to be up so early. It sucks doubly because I'm at work tonight and am yawning like nobody's buisness, and it's not even 2 AM yet. (I was supposed to sneak in a nap when I got home this evening, but I figured that 30 minutes of unconsciousness wouldn't really be worth it. I watched TV instead.)

We watched "Walk Hard" this weekend, and I've got to say that I definitely recommend people see it. I think the best parts were the cameos (Jack White as Elvis? AIIII! And some of my favorite comedian/actors as the Beatles [Jason Schwartzman, Paul Rudd, Justin Long, and Jack Black]...).

And I got myself a new phone. Well, I will in 3-5 buisness days, that is. My BM needed to get a new phone, so I invited myself along to the cell-phone store and we played around with different models for a bit. He actually got one in the store, but I decided to wait and get mine off the internet. Apparently you can't get a free phone at an AT&T store anymore. (Bullshit) So he got his and I played with it a little bit and found out how you can make your own ringtones from files on your computer, save them to your cell phone's memory card, and assign them to people/groups/whatnot.

That's been the thing that's been holding me back from getting a new cell phone - the damned ringtones. Maybe it stems from that night in San Marcos that I amazed a hotel-room full of fans with my Blue October ringtones (the choruses to Razorblade and Calling You [the original version]) that I made by using my Motorola tone creator program. Or maybe since I had that phone and realized that I could have good ringtones (not the crap they try to get you to buy online that picks the wierdest parts of the choruses and/or has synthed midi tones). Anyway, now that I've figured out how, I've made several dozen ringtones for BM's phone and I've got several dozen more in my brain to make. (Selections include Blue October's "Somebody", The Decemberist's "Mariner's Revenge", The White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army", Smashing Pumpkins' "Soma", etc.)

Yep, I'm definitely keeping myself busy.

Oh, and I'm trying to grow an avacado tree, but the seeds just don't seem to be germinating yet. Hrmmph.
