363 days until my quarter-life crisis...

...provided I make it that long.

All I can think of right now is how much my head hurts, and I blame the new plastic retainer I got (since I had the permanent one removed I got a removable one to keep my teeth in line). I think it's the fact that it is on the bottom of my mouth and my tongue is too big as it is. Then when you take away a quarter-inch of tongue-resting-space, my tongue just can't get comfortable or lay normally, so it presses against the retainer, adding pressure and irritation to the teeth. This pressure and pain build up until my brain just hurts. Which is my state right now.

That and I'm at Brackenridge again. Whoopee. I'm very grateful to have had my birthday off from work, and I think it was a pretty swell day altogether. Sunday night my BM took me out for dinner to celebrate, since he was going to be holed up at work for this next week (with school starting and everyone needing books and whatnot, it's forced "all hands on deck" week). He surprised me by taking me to Trulucks, an awesome steak and seafood restaurant downtown. I've never been before, and was a little sticker-shocked when I saw the menu, but it was by far the best meal I've ever eaten. EVER. My BM is certainly one-of-a-kind, and a damn fine boyfriend to boot.

On the actual day I went out with my friends P&M, recently married, and their darling daughter. We hit up Zen for some sushi and tried the "hey cupcake!" on South Congress (delish, btw). It was very cool. Then there was a birthday bonus - as I was headed out the door to meet P&M I got a phone call from my BM, who told me he was going to be off work that night after dinner and wanted to spend that little bit of free time with me. (Awwwww.) So after dinner I went down to his place and we watched a couple more episodes of the first season of Heroes. (We've stolen K&Z's DVD set and have been watching them non-stop to get caught up for season 3.)

Friday there's plans for more outings, this time a dinner with my C&C followed by some 80's cover-band awesomeness at Cedar Street. It should be rockin.
